Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

My Practice

Psychoanalytical treatment involves telling your story and being understood.  It recognises that our complex and often unconscious emotional life is a fundamental part of being human.

This dynamic process that occurs between two people can foster self-understanding and has the potential to transform emotional confusion and suffering.

There is no right or wrong reason to approach psychoanalytical psychotherapy and the person does not have to be heading towards a crisis or in a crisis to see a psychotherapist.

People come to therapy for many different reasons and sometimes the reasons may not be clear. Sometimes it may be due to a troubling event, loss of a loved one, or reoccurring patterns of self-sabotage that cause despair. It could be feelings of isolation or heightened anxiety or sometimes problems coping with stress. Other reasons could be ongoing relationship problems or confused feelings around identity.

Some of the areas I specialise in include:

Trauma, Stress, Low Self Esteem, Depression, Anxiety, Bereavement, Sexuality Issues, Loneliness and Isolation/Relationship Difficulties

The therapeutic work is provided in a safe, confidential, impartial, and non-judgemental space for sharing troubled and confused feelings. The work can be offered on a focussed short-term basis or for a longer, open-ended period.
